WORCESTER, Mass., June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Access Fixtures today announced the release of a new 77 watt LED wall pack that emits more light than a 250-watt metal halide wall pack, and uses 72% less electricity than the 250w MH wall pack. Additionally, the 77w LED wall pack will last much longer, providing uncompromised safety and reduced maintenance. The 77w full cut off LED wall pack is dark sky compliant as well as DLC qualified, qualifying for most energy rebate programs.
“Access Fixtures’ LED luminaires are meeting or exceeding the performance of metal halide luminaires, and are now cost effective too,” said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. He continued, “Priced under $400 and providing significant energy savings, the new Access Fixtures 77 watt LED wall pack makes selecting LED lighting an obvious choice.”
A 250w MH wall pack emits 4,300 mean lumens at 60 CRI. The 77w LED wall pack emits 5,036 mean lumens at 75 CRI, which is 17% more light with superior color rendering. A 250w MH wall pack uses 278 system watts, while a 77 watt LED uses just 77 watts, reducing energy use by 72%. From a financial perspective, if a commercial building in Boston is planning on using wall packs, ten 250 watt metal halide wall packs on for ten hours a day, seven days a week the energy cost would be about $1,529 per year. If the same building uses ten 77 watt LED wall packs, it would cost $423 or over $1,100 less.
